About Us

The Chapel was born from a shared love for Jesus, community, and the heart of Jacksonville, Illinois. What began as a conversation over restoring two historic buildings quickly became a calling to see Annie Merner Chapel once again filled with worship, prayer, and life.

After acquiring the Henry Pfeiffer Library building, Eric and Kayla Jokisch also purchased Annie Merner Chapel with a vision to preserve these iconic spaces for the community. Through that process, God connected them with Lead Pastor Perry Case, Production Pastor Joshua Beckman, and Elder Ryan Turner. United by faith and a passion for serving others, the team began praying about the future of the chapel—and God opened the doors for it to become a House of Worship once again.

From the very beginning, friends and families came together to clean, restore, and prepare the building, filling it with laughter, fellowship, and praise. Today, The Chapel stands as a place where people from all walks of life are welcomed to encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and build meaningful community.

Worship Pastor Isaiah Case leads our worship ministry each week and also serves as our Youth Pastor, alongside his wife, Anna Case, who leads Chapel Kids. Together, they carry a deep legacy of ministry, leadership, and love for the next generation, continuing a tradition of investing in youth and families with Christ-centered direction and care.

Our heart is to be a beacon of God’s hope for Jacksonville and the surrounding communities—a church that loves people well, serves faithfully, and points others to Jesus.

As Pastor Perry Case shares:
 “My heart’s desire is to build up the body of Christ through ministry—providing inspiration, encouragement, counsel, and spiritual guidance. I truly love the Lord and I deeply love people. If I can inspire anyone to come to know Jesus and walk with Him more closely, I am here to do it.”
